I’ve paid for an appraisal. Do I still need a home inspection?: It is in your best interest to have a home inspection. A home inspection provides detailed information about the condition of the home and its systems, as well as any defects.; Appraisers are not trained to inspect a home in this way. They will not check the roof for leaks, or the attic for infestations. They won’t access the crawl space to assess the condition of the foundation.
